Happy late Halloween

Well, um, happy late Halloween. Sorry for not posting. It's been a long story, but to sum it up I've had way tooo much stuff to do, and after the worm hit the website, I kinda forgot about WC:M. Sorry :(. I also unfortunately won't be able to post much content in the near future because right now I have a bunch of college applications to finish, a buncha tests to do, and a buncha soccer games to play. But after Christmas, I'll hopefully be back up and running this website again.

You may have noticed that SC:M and WC:M were both down since late Sunday night. SC:M and WC:M are both back up now. Almost all sections are working again. There are still a few things that I need to fix on WC:M, and I need to fix the posting script on SC:M, but for the most part I have managed to fix things.

For those of you who are curious as to what happened, our server was hit by an Apache / modssl worm, and the hosting company took the server down. They would not let me access the server until they reformatted it (for which they wanted to charge me $75, or something like that), so basically all maps and replays since 7/25 on both sites are lost, and other content since 8/30 is lost. We are trying to rebuild, however. I hope to have all the scripts and sections working by the end of the weekend, after which the real rebuilding process will begin.

NEW STRATEGY!

RAPTOR'S LONG AWAITED EPIC RETURN TO THE REALM OF MILLENNIUM STRATEGY HAS FINALLY COME!

That's right folks. I've written a new strategy, this time not for Starcraft, but for Warcraft3. Not only that, I dove right down into the most intimidating problem that has been haunting the thoughts of all strategists here at WCM... What am I talking about? HOW TO BEAT NE WITH HUMAN, OF COURSE! This strategy is the real deal. The true McCoy. The shining dubloon. The spicy enchillada. The city of gold. The fountain of youth. The Zimmerman report. OJ's bloody glove... Basically, THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!

A few revisions

I've revised a bit of the content that I've written. I've deleted the 1.02 suggested patch changes (for obvious reasons) and I changed some facts in the Human Militia Expanding and Dual-Spellcasting strategy. I'll post an Undead strategy soon. And last, I'd like to welcome Raptor to the staff. I've worked with him before and he's a good guy.

AWCS Tournament

The kind folks over at WarCraft Strategy wanted us to let the community know about a 128 player tournament being held on US West on Saturday, August 24th starting at 1 pm EST. Registration for the tournament is $5.00, however winning the tournament will earn you a cool $400.00. Also, I would just like to compliment the folks over at Advanced WarCraft Strategy for their amazing contribution to the WarCraft III community in regards to strategies. The contributions from the avid viewers out there on their site is amazing. I only hope we at WC:M can do this to a small scale, so keep sending in your strats!

Patch 1.02

The long-awaited patch has come out. The list of changes are as below:

Fixed issues with dragons diverting attacks and abuse of Devour
Necklace of Immunity, Tome of Greater Experience, and Goblin Land Mines no longer randomly drop in multiplayer games.
Scroll of Resurrection & Scroll of Animate Dead item level increased.
Bridges are no longer destroyable on the (6)Stromguarde.w3m map.

Looks like only the major issues have been fixed. The predicted Huntress nerfs and Human buffs weren't implemented in this patch. For those who are waiting for it, there's always next time!

Hi! WC:M has just received another community strategy by Abadonne. His strategy, called Orc Desolation, is a very detailed Orc 1v1 strategy that can be used for general use. It's worth a read; check it out! Keep sending in those strategies!

New Human Strategy Up!

I've posted yet another Human strategy up. It's about Human Militia expanding and timing your expanding. You can check it out here. Also, the other strategy sections look pretty bare (sorry I'm a Human player ^^ ), so I'm planning to write some Orc/Undead strategies in the future. Last, we've run dry on community strategies. Send us your strategies!
